Dictionary of Landscape Architecture

In light of the increasing number of students, the Chair of Professor Vogt created an innovative teaching instrument with the Web project ‘Dictionary of Landscape Architecture’. The goal is to support architecture students specifically and flexibly in their encounter with the elective subject of landscape architecture. The specific goal is to expedite understanding about the terms used in landscape architecture. The Web platform dictionary, which will be open as suggested, clarifies methodological, design, theoretical, historic, typological and technical basic terminology in text and images and presents them in connection with the theoretical as well as bringing didactic added-value. It allows expansion and updating at any time and can be called up from anywhere that’s part of the network. Basic research and education stand in close interaction in this innovative project. On one side, it manages a contribution to theory building in a young discipline through the definition and contextualisation of terms. On the other, it supports architecture students in their individual encounter with landscape architecture through well-grounded expert knowledge and supports their communication skills with regard to overall cooperation in the discipline.
