Images

Images are more than simply emblems or signs. They stimulate associations. Collected observations, findings and memories represent a resource for the design process. The greater the distance between the images and ones own discipline or time, the greater the room for individual appropriation. In an age when we are bombarded by visual material, the critical handling of found images is more important than ever. If images are deployed specifically in presentations they complement the accompanying media rather than compete with it. In research, images also have an epistemological function.
